DECHEMA Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is a non-profit organisation comprising a network of experts, institutions and enterprises representing various disciplines. We foster the scientific exchange, identify and assess new technological trends, and accompany the deployment of research results in technical applications. DECHEMA has more than 5.800 personal members and member organisations.

DECHEMA runs the “Innovation Hub” of the International Sustainable
Chemistry Collaborative Center (ISC3, www.isc3.org). As core activity of the
Innovation Hub we are currently establishing a “Global Start-up Service
- GSS” aiming at the support of sustainable chemistry entrepreneurs on a
global level.



In order to strengthen our GSS activities and to support our team we are looking for a
dedicated and engaged individual as

International Relations Manager (m/f/d)
The position is offered full time, and is initially restricted to end of 2024, with perspective to extend for another 4 year period.

Your job task:

  • Engage with a large international network in the field of sustainable chemistry including incubators, accelerators, start-up support organisations, international organisations, investors, trainers and mentors
  • Investigate the ecosystem in countries under scrutiny, identify and reach out to potential partners and build-up collaborations for our Global start-up service
  • Liaise with existing network partners and develop collaborations in terms of concrete activities and services for the GSS
  • Support team members in international activities, fact-finding missions etc.
  • Manage, monitor, document and evaluate the progress of the partner network (number of partners, regional, thematic and institutional mix, etc.)
  • Support GSS activities incl. events and materials for start-ups

Your profile:

  • A background in chemistry, MBA, entrepreneurship, economics or other relevant academic background at masters or PhD level
  • Experience in the management of international networks, facilitation of innovation processes, business support and financing for start-ups
  • Preferably knowledge in green and sustainable chemistry
  • • Fluency in English and ideally also in Spanish and good basis in German
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity to deal with individuals from all over the world
  • Autonomous as well as team-oriented working mode
  • High motivation to travel incl. intercontinental trips
  • Very good skills in MS Office, use of social media and communication tools
